Rosacea

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a very common skin condition that manifests as persistent flushing or blushing in the cheeks, nose, and forehead area. It can also cause small acne like bumps or visible blood vessels to form on the face in combination with the flushing/blushing sensation. It is most common in people over the age of 30 who have fair skin.

Less commonly, rosacea can sometimes lead to a swelling of the nose known as rhinophyma. Rosacea can also affect the eyes of some patients causing styes to form frequently on the eyelids, development of a burning or stinging sensation in the eyes, or for the eyes to become watery and bloodshot in appearance.
