Dr. Casey Carlos joined Dermatology Arts in 2016 after practicing dermatology and dermatopathology for three years at the University of California San Diego. As a child, she attended Assumption School (now Assumption-St. Bridget’s) in Seattle’s Ravenna/Bryant neighborhood. Her family, originally from Pittsburgh, took her back to the East Coast for high school where she remained to complete her advanced training. She got her Bachelors at Penn State University and her MD and PhD at University of Pittsburgh. Then, she went on to do her residency in dermatology at University of Pennsylvania and her residency in dermatopathology at University of Michigan. After that, her extended family decided to return to the Pacific Northwest for good.
Dr. Carlos is passionate about patient-centered care. She served as Chief Resident at the University of Pennsylvania & as residency program co-director at UCSD. She has received local and national teaching awards. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and with any type of skin issue. She is particularly interested in infectious disease and tropical dermatology. Dr. Carlos is double board-certified in Dermatology and in Dermatopathology.
In her non-dermatology time, Dr. Carlos being outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family including her four-year-old and two-year-old sons. She and her sisters are determined to experience each of the fifty-eight US national parks together. Dr. Carlos and her sisters have visited thirty-six (and counting!) National Parks!
