Fall is here! The season for autumn colors, boots, scarves, and yes, all things pumpkin spice. As it cools down outside, time spent indoors with drying heat can cause our skin to itch, too.
Here are some tips to help:
- Keep washing simple: Wash with soap once daily at most, as it can strip your skin of its natural and protecting oils. Keep soap simple, too. Dove bar soap is a great choice.
- Apply a thick moisturizer often, even more so for hands that get washed often throughout the day. Some products we find effective include Cetaphil Restoraderm and CeraVe lotions. For extra dry skin, or after swimming, an additional coat of Aquaphor can be protective.
- Be cautious of scented soaps and detergents as they may contain ingredients which can be skin irritating.
